In retrospect: DUH! Though I wish the Renogy's monitor manual would say this - and actually I wish its diagram would show the (crucial) little red wire heading off to the battery bank's + terminal. Now it works great, with the two little arrows showing UP when the sun is hitting the panel and down when the batteries are depleting - but this was confusing to me because if you get this wrong it will monitor the depletions correctly (show how much current is being spent, and how many Ah remain, as it did during my multi-day test) but won't show the battery increasing in charge again. In this thread it's been made clear by you kind people that nope, this has to be connected to the P- terminal. It would be nice if it achieved 166A because that would be 2000W not including losses.Ī very easy battery to start on and allows you some good power out.My problem was similar - I had incorrectly connected the Renogy Solar Controller (SCC's) BATT- connector to the B- terminal. It takes 50A of charging which is quite hard to generate and gives out 100A which is actually closer to 109 on my battery before it looks to shut down. It also means that you don't need any other equipment to communicate with the battery, which turns any system into a smart system.

The comms through bluetooth are good inside the app with plenty of information and as long as you follow the instructions for making the battery turn on out of the box it is very intuitive to use the battery. A really nice feature is the extra long bolts because large wire terminals quickly use up the shorter bolt height. Obviously quiet and neatly packaged, the battery came in a nice box with plenty of documentation and stickers.
